Office 2010 Starter is the new edition added to the Office 2010 SKU line, and it will be offered completely free of charge to customers who will buy a new computer from OEMs starting with the first half of 2010
Office 2010 Starter will only be made available preinstalled on new PCs, and will not be offered as a standalone product. In this regard, the Starter edition of Office 2010 is designed to replace Microsoft Works, which, as current owners of OEM machines know, came installed by default on their computers.

Office 2010 will not expire, but it will serve end users advertising in exchange for letting them use a subset of the Word 2010 and Excel 2010 features.

Microsoft Office 2010 Beta (this means it is still in testing phase, therefore it is free to use, until "proper" version is released) is available to download for free Dear Guest, you can't see link before you register!, "Get it now" link in the upper right corner.
i created educational presentations on basic use of these MS Office 2010 programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access, it is all published on the website with free access: Dear Guest, you can't see link before you register! , where you can see how it looks, new features etc. in my opinion: it really doesn't disappoint, this is best MS office version yet. EXCEPT: we couldn't make Outlook to send (and there is no right explanation or fix for it on any forum), hopefully that will be cured in the official release. all other options, flawless (at least for basic use, after i finish making presentations for advanced use, in month or so, i might say smthng else). hope you'll enjoy it!
